Washington, (IINA) - Researchers at University of Washington (UW) have recently conducted the first-ever experiment proved that two brains can be directly linked to each other. The mind reading technology is made possible through the help of sophisticated technology, even if the participants are one mile apart from each other, Daily Times Gazette reported citing ABCnews.
In order to test their findings, researchers conducted a study on 20 participants where one person asks another individual a question. Majority of participants successfully accomplished the task and communicated using their brain waves and a specially designed computer.
“We want to establish that it is possible to use this rudimentary brain-to-brain collaboration to solve a common problem”, said Andrea Stocco, co-author of the study from the Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences at the UW.
Researchers said the mind-meld technology could provide various benefits. For example, it might be possible to transfer information from a weakened patient to a healthy person by using their minds. The technology could also help blind people “see” by transmitting images directly to their brain.
