Cairo, (IINA) - The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Ahmed Abuzeid stated on Tuesday that the situation of Syrian refugees is on warning levels to both Islamic and international communities.
Abuzeid pointed out that Egypt hosts more than 500,000 Syrian refugees who have the same rights as Egyptian citizens, such as housing, education and health care.
He also said that the number of Syrian refugees in European countries does not exceed hundreds of thousands, in contrast to Syria’s neighboring countries which hosts millions of Syrian refugees.
Finally, Abuzeid stressed on the treatment of refugees, saying that they must be treated in a manner that is consistent with the obligations of international human rights.
