Canberra, (IINA) - The Australian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that its air forces have carried out its first mission in Syria. But, the ministry stressed that the aircrafts which participated in the mission returned to their bases without firing their weapons, IraqiNews reported.
Also, the ministry said in a statement, “ We sent two F-18 Hornets with a system for early warning and control and one KC 30-A to refuel the F-18 Hornets in the air”.
The Australian Air Force is involved in the coalition led by the United States against ISIS, but its role is limited to refueling and intelligence gathering operations so far.
