Makkah, (IINA) - Insurance experts expect that families of the deceased in the crane crash accident at the Grand Mosque will be compensated under the insurance policy for government projects, Al-Hayat newspaper reported. The insurance company will pay around $8.5 million as blood money to the families of the deceased.
Insurance experts have classified the crane crash as an accident caused by a natural disaster, and therefore all damages should be compensated.
Insurance policies for government projects include a segment that covers for all damages during natural disasters and accidents, whether such damages were materialistic losses or human losses.
The Saudi law has a clause that obliges all companies working on a government project to submit an insurance policy on everything that concerns the project, such as construction site, construction equipment, and human lives.
