23 year-old Syrian wins photojournalism award

Paris, (IINA) - Baraa Al-Halabi, a 23 year-old Syrian national, was one of the winners of an international photojournalism contest. His winning picture was a haunting photo of a bombing in the Syrian city of Aleppo, France24 reported.
Al-Halabi, who says that he was clueless about photography 4 years ago, has took the picture on June 3, 2014, the day of presidential elections in Syria.The young man did not have any plans to become a photographer. He was a student of computer sciences at the University of Aleppo when the uprising began; it was then he decided to capture and relay the happenings in his country.
It is noteworthy that Al-Halabi didn’t receive professional training on photography, instead, he learned himself via methods such as YouTube, and magazines.
