London, (IINA) - A modest fashion runway show was among the highlights at one of the UK’s largest Muslim lifestyle exhibitions last week, Exhibition World news reported.
The inaugural Muslim Lifestyle Expo 2015 welcomed more than 5,000 visitors of all faiths to celebrate the contributions made by Muslim businesses, startups and entrepreneurs to the UK’s economy and society.
Among more than 80 exhibitors at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena were businesses from Malaysia, South Africa, Norway, Singapore and Turkey.
Exhibitors represented sectors ranging from food and drink, to fashion, travel, beauty and finance. “The event was also a good showcase of how the UK is facilitating business across the world,” said expo founder Tahir Mirza.
“The Muslim Lifestyle Expo 2015 is an excellent example of the important role that the entire Muslim community plays in today’s society and fostering community relations.”
Mirza added that research valued the Muslim community’s global spending on food and lifestyle sectors at £1.36 trillion annually.
Exhibition seminars covered travel, Halal lifestyle, Islamic finance and marketing.
Meanwhile, a networking event included presentations from entrepreneurs and business experts about how to market to Muslim consumers.
“It has given us the inspiration and energy to make next year’s event even bigger and better,” Mirza said.
Exhibition highlights included a live modest fashion show directed by Zaf Shabir, entertainment by comedy stars Guzzy Bear and Sadia Azmat, as well as global nasheed artists Junaid Jamshed and Saif Adam.
