Freetown, Sierra Leone (IINA) - Medicines Sans Frontieres (MSF) aid organization has reported that the health authorities in Sierra Leone have released the last known Ebola patient from hospital on Tuesday, SPA reported citing DBA.
The 35-year-old woman had been treated in Sierra Leone's northern district of Bombali, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
If no other Ebola cases are confirmed in the next 42 days, the West African nation will be declared free of the virus, which killed more than 11,000 people since its outbreak in Guinea in December 2013.
Sierra Leone is one of the countries worsely affected by the Ebola epidemic, with almost 13,500 reported infections and over 3,950 deaths.
