Jerusalem, (IINA) - Israeli police forces on Wednesday attacked some Palestinian citizens who were waiting near Al-Silsila Gate of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and did not allow them to get into the holy site in East Jerusalem, according to news agencies.
Also, the Israeli occupation forces did not allow Muslim women in all age groups from entering the compound. They also ordered the Palestinians who were already inside the mosque to leave and threatened to confiscate their Jerusalem identity documents if they refused, which led them to protest by chanting Islamic slogans.
A Palestinian woman barricading herself at Al-Silsila Gate slammed the Israeli restrictions as a “spatial division” as police continued to allow Jewish settler groups’ access into the site for the third day in a row.
Furthermore, two cameramen were fined while covering the Israeli restrictions on Palestinian worshippers, purportedly for obstructing traffic. Each cameraman was fined a total of $121.
The two cameramen stated that the fines are a step taken by the police to restrict their news coverage and prevent them from documenting the Israeli police measures which aim to make life unbearable for Palestinians.
