Gaza (IINA) – The Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage in Palestine kicked off Tuesday the distribution of Ramadan food packets to the needy Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip, as part of a project named "Campaign of Hope", sponsored by the Saudi people.
The distribution process of the aid parcels, which is based on a number of professional standards, will benefit more than a thousand of the most needy families in southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Yunis.
Chairman of the Center Dr Jamal Abu-Zarifa said: "The Campaign of Hope", sponsored by the generous Saudi people, aimed at the distribution of food baskets that meet the needs of the poor families, following case studies of the Palestinian families.
Dr Abu-Zarifa stressed that the current Gaza's economic condition has contributed towards increasing levels of poverty in the Palestinian territories. He pointed out that the purpose of distributing the aid parcels is to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in the wake of the brutal Israeli aggression and the unjust blockade of the Gaza Strip, and to help them with the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
Abu-Zarifa praised the significant role played by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause in all areas and at all levels.
