OIC condemns terrorist attacks in Egypt’s Sinai

Jeddah (IINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned Wednesday’s terrorist attacks on military checkpoints in Northern Sinai, Egypt, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries among military and police officers.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani expressed the Organization's full solidarity with the Egyptian government and people in facing up to terrorism. He said he is confident that such terrorist acts would only consolidate the determination of the Egyptian government and people to stand together and unite in the fight against terrorism and for peace and stability.
Madani reiterated the OIC's consistent position to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of its source. He also stressed the OIC’s full commitment to continue to work through constant consultation with member states and the OIC organs and institutions to effectively confront the scourge of terrorism within the framework of the OIC adopted resolutions.
The secretary general conveyed his condolences to the Egyptian government and the families of the martyrs, and wished speedy recovery for the wounded.
