Jeddah (IINA) – The Arab coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, announced a five-day humanitarian pause in Yemen, starting from Sunday, upon a request from Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
In a letter addressed to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, President Hadi expressed his government's desire to announce a five-day humanitarian truce, starting Sunday, in order to deliver and distribute the largest amount of humanitarian and medical assistance to the Yemeni people.
The coalition is committed to stopping all military acts throughout the set period, but in case the ceasefire is violated by the Houthi militias and the forces loyal to them, they will be confronted by the coalition forces, with the continuation of the air and maritime blockage and inspections, as well as the aerial reconnaissance for any military actions or movements, according to the letter.
