Amman, (IINA) - Jordanian Parliament Speaker Atef Tarawneh held talks here with Speaker of Bahrain Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla on ways to cement ties between two countries, especially in parliamentary affairs, Petra reported.
They also discussed developments in the region, especially in Iraq and Syria and efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, in addition to stressing the need to strengthen pan-Arab solidarity.
Regarding the Palestinian cause, Tarawneh noted that any forthcoming negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis must bring an independent Palestinian state and address all final status issues.
He also spoke about Jordan's efforts to counter extremist ideology and highlight the bright and true image of Islam. He highlighted burdens being borne by Jordan as a result of hosting a massive influx of Syrian refugees on its territory.
For his part, Al-Mulla commended relations between the two countries and paid tribute to Jordan's support to Bahrain's security and stability. He stressed  the need to boost bilateral ties in various domains and enhance cooperation between the legislatures of both countries.
