Jeddah (IINA) – The Jeddah-based International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO), an affiliate of the Muslim World League (MWL), has launched its flagship project, called "Iftar" for the holy month of Ramadan.
The project aimed at provision of iftar meals to 20,383 families across Saudi Arabia, at a cost of more than 6 million riyals.
IIRO Secretary General Ihsan bin Saleh Tayeb said the Organization has commenced implementing the project since the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan through its delegations and offices throughout the Kingdom. He pointed out that the project garnered broad support of Saudi philanthropists.
In preparation for this humanitarian initiative, Tayeb said IIRO had developed numerous studies and strategies that would enable the Organization to deliver aid to those who need it most.
He explained that residents of 15 cities and their suburbs will benefit from this project, adding that IIRO has adopted the voucher system in all areas to enable the beneficiaries to get wide-range of food items from the shops.
