Islamabad (IINA) – The death toll from the severe heatwave, mostly affecting Pakistan's Sindh province, has risen to 475 in four days.
Health officials said on Tuesday that most of the deaths have been in Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan and capital of Sindh province, which has experienced temperatures as high as 45 degree Celsius in recent days.
The frequent power cuts have negatively contributed to the increased complications of the heatwave, according to local media reports.
The civilian authorities, in collaboration with the military forces, are providing assistance to patients suffering from the effects of the heatwave by the establishment of temporary medical centers in different parts of Karachi.
