Amman, (IINA) – Jordanian Interior Minister, Salmah Hammad, along with Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate at the UN, Jean-Paul Laborde, discussed ways and efforts to counter terrorism as well as the latest developments in the region, Petra reported.
During the meeting, Hammad said, ''The prolongation of conflicts witnessed by the neighboring countries and the absence of comprehensive political solutions based on dialogue, will exacerbate terrorism and extremism, that have no particular religion, nationality and race.''
Hammad noted that Jordan notwithstanding its limited resources, is continuing to assert security and stability, and has thus contributed towards enhancing the efforts to fight such phenomena.
For his part, Laborde expressed the UN's commitment towards the Kingdom, in terms of supporting it to confront terrorism by promoting the strategy in this regard, and emphasized the world body's recognition of Jordan's role in this sphere.
