OIC launch of the first round of extensive consultations to boost relations between the Muslim world and China

Beijing, (IINA) - The first round of extensive political consultation between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Peoples of China kicked off in the capital Beijing on Monday.
Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs, Ambassador Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman Alem who led OIC Delegation has met with Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zhang Ming, and the Director General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs, Chen Xiaodong.
Talks were centered on the means to promote relations between the two parties, the situation in the Middle East and how to address the crises threatening peace and security in this strategic region of the world, in particular the Palestinian cause.
The two parties discussed also the issue of inter-religious dialogue, which they considered as a preparation to the promotion of rapprochement between the Muslim world and China within the framework of the Islamic-Chinese Forum.
The OIC delegation, whose visit to China will last until 26 of April, is expected to conduct a field visit to Xinjiang province to check the situation of Muslims there and hold meetings with governmental officials in the province.
