Putrajaya (IINA) – Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Wednesday received a courtesy call from Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani at Perdana Putra, BERNAMA reported.

The meeting was part of Madani's itinerary during his three-day visit to Malaysia beginning Tuesday, his first to this country since assuming the post in January 2014.

The Secretary General and his accompanying delegation spent nearly 30 minutes with Najib at the office complex of the Prime Minister of Malaysia in Putrajaya.

According to a member of Madani's delegation, the high-profile meeting discussed issues pertaining to the status of the Malaysian-brokered peace agreement on the Southern Philippines, among others.

According to statement by the Foreign Ministry, the visit demonstrates Malaysia's continued commitment to playing an active role in OIC, and its dedication in addressing issues and challenges faced by the Muslim community.
