Djibouti (IINA) – Djibouti has denounced the recent anti-Saudi Arabia statements by Sweden’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom at the Swedish parliament.

Ziauddin Bamakhrama, Djibouti's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, said targeting the Qiblah of Muslims and the birthplace of Islam means targeting all Muslims. He stressed that the Swedish minister’s statements represent a flagrant interference in the internal affairs of Saudi Arabia, and are incompatible with the values and spirit of international law.

Bamakhrama said that many Western countries and international organizations that claim to defend human rights use double standards in this regard, particularly when it relates to the Palestinian cause, the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and the rights of Muslim minorities in their countries.
