Moscow (IINA) – Russia will introduce the first biological anticancer drug to the market in the middle of the current year.

Vice-President of the manufacturing company, Roman Ivanov told Russia Today that they have done all the clinical trials, and the product was handed over to the Russian Ministry of Health for registration.

"The new drug inhibits the growth of malignant tumor, but it will not eliminate the cancer altogether, so it has to be used along with chemotherapy," Ivanov said.

He explained that the drug will be used for the treatment of intestinal, lung, kidney, and breast tumors, adding that it will significantly change the situation on the market, as its price will be cheaper by 30-40 percent compared to the expensive Swiss anticancer drugs.
