Sousse, Tunisia (IINA) – A ceremony was organized to honor Tunisia's National Dialogue Quartet in recognition of itswinning the Nobel Peace Prize for 2015.
The ceremony was held at the conclusion of the opening session of the International Symposium on Promoting Values of Peace and Dialogue in the Tunisian city of Sousse on Monday. It was attended among others by Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri.
The Dialogue Quartet was given the award for its pivotal role in the country's transition to democracy, and achieving consensus among the Tunisian political parties on major issues after the political crisis that evolved in the country in 2013.
The Quartet is made up of the Tunisian General Labor Union, the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, the Tunisian Human Rights League, and the National Bar Association.
