Baku, (IINA) - Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry announced on Monday that two soldiers were killed in clashes along frontier with Armenia, Anadolu Agency reported.
It added that the soldiers, as well as an unspecified number of Armenian military personnel, were killed as Armenians tried to cross the border into Azerbaijan’s Qazax region on Sunday, the ministry said.
The statement added that seven Azerbaijani soldiers have been killed so far this year along the border.
The two countries fought a six-year war over occupied Karabakh in the early 1990s until a 1994 cease-fire came into effect; however, several violations still occur.
