OIC chief begins official visit to Iraq

Baghdad, (IINA) - Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani traveled to the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Saturday on an official visit at the invitation of the Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Jaafari.
During the visit, the secretary general is holding talks with Iraqi senior officials on Iraqi-OIC bilateral relations, particularly with regards to Makkah II conference to help the Iraqi national reconciliation efforts.
The OIC chief is also expected to hold meetings with the Iraqi leadership during which they will exchange views on the agenda of the Islamic summit-taking place next April in Istanbul, and on the situation in the region.
