New Jersey, (IINA) - The Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church in New Jersey, U.S.A is hosting a free 10-week course on "Understanding Islam - Essence and Practice,"TAPinto Local New Jersey News reported.
The 10-week courses will be presented by Ali Chaudry, Ph.D., lecturer at the Lifelong Learning Institute of Rutgers University and president of the Islamic Society of Basking Ridge,
The first session, "IMAN: Core Beliefs and Sources of Guidance," is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon this Thursday, in the Church House Parlor at the Presbyterian Church, 1 East Oak St., in downtown Basking Ridge.
All but one of sessions to follow, through June 2, will continue at that time and place, according to information from Chaudry.
Other sessions coming up would address "Practical Aspects of Islam – Achieving Perfection in Faith," "Life of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) and Early Islamic History," Commonalities and Differences among Faiths," "True Jihad vs. ISIS-Violent Extremism–Challenges," and more.
A visit to a mosque is scheduled between 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May, 6, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in lieu of the regular Thursday class.
Chaudry previously presented a briefer public conversation about Islam last month at the Presbyterian Church.
