Geneva (IINA) – Ambassador Ibrahim Khraishi, the permanent Observer of Palestine to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, has signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of the State of Palestine with Rolf Heuer, director of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).
The agreement was signed following several meetings and consultations with CERN leadership and approval of the Executive Council. It is aimed at cooperation in the scientific and technical research in nuclear physics for the development of knowledge and benefit of peaceful application, especially in the field of nuclear physics science.
The Palestinian universities will have the benefit of the deal through training, study and research, which will allow Palestinian students to participate in the study of different physics sciences and high educational attainment in this area.
It should be noted that the CERN, which comprises most of the EU countries, is one of the world’s largest and most respected centers for scientific research. A large number of the countries worldwide are cooperating with Switzerland-based Organization.
