Jeddah, (IINA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its appreciation for the Greek Parliament’s unanimous resolution to recognize the State of Palestine.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani indicated that this significant move is consistent with the UN resolutions to end the Israeli occupation and enable the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent State of Palestine on the Palestinian territory occupied since June 4, 1967 with Jerusalem as its capital.
Madani expressed his hope that the Greek government would take the initiative for recognizing the State of Palestine, emphasizing that this would contribute to enhancing international efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
The Secretary General also called on all countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take the initiative to declare its recognition in support of the two-state solution.
