Lebanese former prisoner Kantar killed in Israeli airstrike near Damascus

Beirut (IINA) – Lebanon's group Hezbollah announced Sunday morning that former Lebanese prisoner Samir Kantar was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Jaramana, southeast of Syrian capital Damascus.
The Lebanese militant group said in a statement that Samir Kantar, known in Lebanon as "The Dean of Lebanese Prisoners" for being the longest-held prisoner in Israel, was killed in an overnight strike targeted a residential building in the town of Jaramana on the outskirts of Damascus, killing Samir Kantar. The air raid also killed a number of Syrian citizens, according to the statement.
