New York (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani met here on Friday with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
The two leaders discussed a number of regional and international issues, foremost of which the Palestinian issue especially the ongoing events in Jerusalem and the Israeli aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque. The meeting also addressed the current developments in Syria and the situation of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
Furthermore, the two sides reviewed prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two organizations. They stressed the need for good preparation for the next consultative meeting between the two organizations to be held in Geneva in May 2016.
