Santiago, (IINA) - The US Secretary of State John Kerry called on Israeli forces and Palestinian citizens on Monday to remain calm and avoid further escalation in Jerusalem.
Kerry made these comments in the parliament of Chile Valparaiso hours after the Israeli occupation forces banned Muslims from entering Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa mosque, AFP reported. "Regarding Jerusalem, it is absolutely unacceptable on either side to have violence resorted to as a solution, and I would caution everybody to be calm, not to escalate the situation and to deal with this in a way that can find quick way back to the full restoration of the status quo,” Kerry said.
It is noteworthy that Al-Aqsa Mosque is Islam's third holiest site after Makkah's Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.
