IDB approves $894.8 million financing

Jeddah (IINA) - The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) approved new financing amounting to a total of $894.8 million on Monday during the 307th board meeting of IDB Executive Directors.
The funding included financing development projects in a number of member states of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) such as Togo, Benin, Chad, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Cote d'Ivoire, Pakistan, Suriname and Cameroon.
IDB also approved to provide seven grants to Muslim communities in non-OIC member states as a part of its continuous efforts to contribute to the economic development in Muslim communities. The grants approved were to communities in Burundi, India, Fiji Islands, Mauritius, Montenegro, Panama and Britain.
The board also discussed a number of reports regarding the 10-year Strategy, the bank's agenda for the next three years, a report on the financing of the private sector development as well as a report on a 5-year IDB plan that was proposed by the bank's President Ahmed Ali.
