FAO supports Sudan's demand to UN to lift economic sanctions

Rome, (IINA) - The Director General of the International Food Organization (FAO) affirmed on Monday that the organization supports Sudan's demand to the UN regarding lifting the economic sanctions imposed on the country, SUNA reported.
Minister of Animal Resources Ja'afar Abdullah said that he had discussed ways of cooperation between FAO and Sudan with the organization's Director General on the sideline of FAO's 42th session in Rome. Abdullah also noted that the Director General asserted the organization's support to Sudan in the fields of agriculture and animal resources, noting that a primary role will be played by Sudan on the issue of food security.
The Director General stressed his continued support for the manufacture of vaccines in Sudan for self-sufficiency and its exportation to the neighboring countries.
