Makkah, (IINA) - The Saudi Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat, managed by the Islamic Development Bank, continues offering services to pilgrims since 1403H so as to ease pilgrims perform their rituals of Hajj by undertaking one of the rituals - the animal sacrifice and donating the meat -on their behalf.
According to SPA, around 4,000 staff are working on the project, and they range from doctors, veterinarians, religious supervisors, administrators, butchers and general assistants, as well as a technical team assigned with the facilities’ maintenance, operation, management, supply and medical care of the staff.
The project has distributed 18.673.608 heads of sheep to people in need since it began, of which 683,167 heads of sheep and 10,248 camels and cows were distributed to charities inside Saudi Arabia during the Hajj of 1435H. A surplus of 191,500 sacrificial animals were shipped to refugees and poor people in 21 countries in Asia and Africa.
Statistics showed that since camels and cows were used for sacrifice from 1411H and until 1435H, 160,488 of them were distributed outside Saudi Arabia.
The pilgrims need to purchase an Adahi coupon at a cost SR475 and the IDB will do the sacrifice and distribution of meat on their behalf. The coupons are sold at the Saudi Post, Al-Rajhi Bank, Al-Amoudi Exchange Company, and the charity association of Haji & Mu’tamer’s Gift. They can also be purchased through online from the website of the Saudi Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat: www.adahi.org
