Rome (IINA) – Italy, Germany and France stressed the need to achieve a fair distribution of the influx of refugees to Europe, and called for a strong response to this request.
The joint document signed by the foreign ministers of the three countries underlines that the current refugee crisis has "clearly shown the limits and defects" of the rules on asylum and that they need to be re-assessed,  the Italian Foreign Ministry said in a statement late Wednesday
The three countries want the document to be discussed at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg on September 4-5, the statement said.
It is noteworthy that Germany urged last Sunday the other EU member states to receive more refugees, calling for fairer distribution of the refugees, and more solidarity among the EU countries.
