Baghdad (IINA) – Iraqi Parliament Speaker Saleem al-Jubouri called the United Nations to play a greater role in the context of promoting national reconciliation in Iraq, and to support the efforts being made in this field.
This came during al-Jabouri's meeting with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq Jan Kubis.
During the meeting, they reviewed developments in the political situation in the country in addition to the files of the national reconciliation and legislation, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
Al-Jabouri also focused on the importance of the role of the international organization in supporting the parliamentary legislation that would strengthen the democratic structure and implement the consensus between national forces.
