Rabat, (IINA) - Morocco’s Central Bureau for Judiciary Investigations (BCIJ), arrested on Thursday nine people in the cities of Nador, Laayoune, Tetouan, Meknes, Sidi Ifni, Beni Mellal, Saidia, Dakhla and Tangiers, for claiming their adherence to ISIS and spreading, via websites extremist ideas adopted by this terrorist organization, said the Interior Ministry in a statement, Morocco World News reported.
In addition to their allegiance to “Abu Bakr el Baghdadi” and their complete adherence to the organization’s agenda, these people contributed, on a large scale, to defending criminal acts by ISIS inside and outside Syria and Iraq, mainly acts that have targeted several countries during this holy month, said the ministry.
The alleged terrorists had also made contacts with ISIS to encourage young volunteers to fight for this entity and used the internet to acquire skills in relation to explosives and chemicals manufacturing and weapons use.
“The group has used internet to get expertise in making explosives and chemical materials as well as handling arms,” it said.
The accused will be brought to justice after the completion of the probe under way, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
