Mauritania, UN discuss status of renewable energy

Nouakchott (IINA) – Prime Minister of Mauritanian Yahya Ould Hademine held talks with Deputy Executive Director of the UN Environment Program (UNEP) Ibrahim Thiaw on the status of renewable energy in Mauritania and ways to develop it.
The talks between the two sides took place on the sidelines of the 25th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Sunday.
The prime minister discussed with the UNEP executive director issues related to renewable energies and avenues to develop them in Mauritania, in its capacity as a model of the UN program in this field.
