King Salman Center for Relief continues aiding stranded Yemenis at Al-Wadiah port

Riyadh (IINA) – As part of the efforts to assist stranded Yemenis, King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Work launched a new phase of its plans to ease the effects of overcrowding crisis at the Yemeni port of Al-Wadiah that has affected thousands of women, children and the elderly people, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Spokesman for King Salman Center Raafat Al-Sabbagh explained that this phase includes the distribution of 8,000 hot meals a day, divided into iftar and suhour, at a rate of 3,000 meals on the Saudi side of the port. A similar amount of meals is also distributed in the central area of the port, in addition to 1,000 hot meals distributed daily on the Yemeni side of the port.
In a press statement Sunday, Al-Sabbagh said the first stage of King Salman Center aimed at assisting the stranded at Al-Wadiah port included the distribution of 50,000 ready meals, in addition to 400,000 loaves of bread, and more than 100,000 of bottles of water. In a later stage, some 30,000 meals and 60,000 bottles of water were distributed.
He pointed out that the center intends to continue its efforts in aiding the stranded Yemenis at Al-Wadiah port until the effects of the overcrowding crisis is over.
