Berlin (IINA) – The OIC Ministerial Contact Group on defending the cause of Palestine and protecting the City of Jerusalem arrived Wednesday in Berlin on a visit to Germany to meet with Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The visit comes within the framework of the plan adopted by the 20th session of Al-Quds Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
The delegation is comprised of members from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia and Palestine, as well as the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
This consultative meeting with the German foreign minister comes in continuation of a series of meetings being held by the Contact Group during its visits to a number of influential international capitals to support the Palestinian cause and convey the OIC’s position on Israel’s continued settlement policies and aggressions on the Palestinian people, their land and holy sites, which delay any attempts to revive the stalled Middle East peace process.
The delegation is scheduled to stress the importance of activating the international efforts to achieve peace and stability, consistent with the international legitimacy resolutions and the vision of the two-state solution.
