Morocco will host informal UfM high-level conference on climate change

Wednesday 06 May 2015 - 15:33 Makkah mean time-17-7-1436 (Image from google ) Skhirat city (IINA) – Ministers and high-level representatives of members of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), as well as the European Commissioner in charge of Climate Action and Energy will attend an Informal UfM high-level conference on climate change, according to media reports. Hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco, Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean Fathallah Sijilmassi will participate at the Informal UfM high-level conference that will be held in Skhirat, Morocco, on May 6-7. The event will gather ministers and high-level representatives of UfM members and the European Commissioner in charge of Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete. This high-level conference will be preceded by the second meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean Climate Change Expert Group (UfMCCEG). Both UfM gatherings will happen in the framework of the Mediterranean Climate Week that will bring together, from 4 to 7 May, several climate change related events. The conference will be an opportunity to give enhanced visibility to the work that is being carried out in the field of climate change within the framework of the UfM. SM/IINA
