Tirana, (IINA) - Over 120 Italian construction firms are taking part in the 'Italy & Albania - Building Together' Forum, which kicked off here, ANSA Mediterranean reported.
''The aim is to make Albania known not only as a possible market but also as a bridge into the Balkans, a region that is experiencing a season of peace and stability,'' Italian ambassador to Tirana Massimo Gaiani said in his opening remarks.
The event was sponsored by the Italian national builders association (ANCE) and the Italian Trade Commission (ICE).
"You just have to take the plane to Albania,'' said Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, pledging that his government would always pave the way for anyone wanting to invest. Rama as well as Economy and Tourism Minister Arben Ahmetaj, Energy Minister Damian Gjiknuri and Deputy Transport Minister Ylli Manjani unveiled opportunities available in the country in front of investors.
Tourism, agroindustry, manufacturing, energy and renewable energy sources, road, rail and port infrastructure are the sectors in which the Albanian authorities invited Italian companies to invest in.
''The Italian industry meets all the needs that a country has. We are convinced that we can work together, including with Albanian partners to do big things, said ANCE foreign promotion initiatives coordinator and diplomatic advisor Massimo Rustico.
