Grand Mufti Al Al-Sheikh

Jeddah (IINA) – Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Asheikh, who is also chairman of the Senior Scholars Commission, Religious Research Administration and Ifta, lauded the decision issued Tuesday by the coalition forces to end the ‘Operation Decisive Storm’ and launch the ‘Restoration of Hope’ operation in Yemen.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Wednesday, the Mufti said the decision taken by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to launch the ‘Decisive Storm’ operation was not for bloodshed in Yemen but to protect the innocent civilians who had difficult times under the pressure of the Houthi militias and their supporters.
The Mufti drew attention that the operation was also designed to restore legitimacy in Yemen, a Yemenis option usurped by the Houthi group. It is also prescribed to protect the Two Holy Mosques from odious wills. He noted that the coming period is ushering in upbeat and hope that Yemen will return as safe, stable and secure as before.
Asheikh thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for siding with the Yemeni people and the efforts he exerted together with the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to support Yemeni people against the Houthi aggression. He also commended the King's gesture of allotting $274 million for humanitarian works in Yemen through the United Nations.
The Mufti urged the people of Yemen to unite and work for the interests of their religion and lives. He also appealed to them to distance themselves from sedition and difference, and to focus on rebuilding their country.
