Jeddah (IINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the atrocious massacre of 30 Ethiopian Christians by the affiliate of Daesh terrorist group in Libya.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani expressed horror at the latest execution of innocent persons, which adds to the long list of the brutalities committed by this group of criminals and outlaws. He noted that this incident has again highlighted the need to further step up international collaboration to combat and eradicate the menace and terror of Daesh.
Madani also added that the OIC is in the process of forming a group of wise people to visit Libya to push forward for a social and political equilibrium to transfer Libya from the institutional vacuum of the Gaddafi era, and the violent aftermath that followed his fall to a state of national identity, shared values and transitional institutions.
The Secretary General renewed his call for addressing the root causes and environment that breeds extremism and give space for divisive foreign influence.
The Secretary General also conveyed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the government and people of Ethiopia over the tragedy, assuring them that the OIC shares in their grief.
