Upcoming changes in the functions of French council of the Muslim faith

Paris, (IINA) - The French government is seeking to involve imams and scholars from the Islamic religion and intellectuals in order to confront extremism, according to sources close to President Francois Hollande.

It is expected that the French president will announce in the coming days many changes in the functions of the French Council of the Muslim Faith.

These changes will be like providing training to the French and foreign imams, and the allocation of significant assistance to the Muslim clerics who work in fighting extremism.

Hollande considered that the problem of his country is the absence of a high-institution regulation responsible for Muslims, which has a significant and audible voice from all Muslims of France."
